REGINA (21), demacrada y consumida, llega a la hacienda de sus tíos, lo que inicia como una cena de reencuentro se torna en una atmósfera opresiva: a la luz de las velas, su tío alimenta compulsivamente a un cajón oscuro donde oculta un secreto atroz.
Atrapada entre su propia necesidad y el horror que inunda la casa, Regina deberá descubrir qué secreto atroz se oculta en ese comedor antes de que el apetito voraz que la rodea decida que ella es el siguiente platillo.
REGINA (21), emaciated and consumed, arrives at her aunt and uncle’s hacienda. What begins as a reunion dinner shifts into an oppressive atmosphere: by candlelight, her uncle compulsively feeds a dark box where he hides a gruesome secret.
Trapped between her own need and the horror filling the house, Regina must discover what atrocious secret lies within that dining room before the voracious appetite surrounding her decides she is the next dish.
El cortometraje explora la batalla más primitiva del ser humano: la lucha por el control de nuestros propios impulsos. A menudo creemos que el verdadero terror habita en la oscuridad o en lo paranormal, pero existe un miedo más profundo y tangible: el miedo a nosotros mismos, a esa voz interna que exige ser saciada sin importar el costo.
Vivimos en una sociedad que demoniza el exceso, pero que secretamente lo consume. “¡Aliméntame!” nace de una cicatriz personal, de mis propios años de adolescencia luchando contra el sobrepeso. Durante mucho tiempo, me sentí rehén de un apetito que no era fisiológico, sino emocional; me sentía habitado por un monstruo abusivo, un barril sin fondo que quería comer y comer, silenciando mi voluntad bocado tras bocado. Esa lucha interna, esa sensación de perder la batalla contra tu propio cuerpo, es el horror que busco retratar aquí.
Esta historia es mi forma de exteriorizar a ese monstruo. Es el escenario de pesadilla que construí para darle rostro a esa ansiedad. En la película, Regina entra a esa casa buscando refugio, pero se encuentra con la prueba definitiva. Así como yo luché internamente para hacer las paces y retomar el control, Regina se enfrenta al “bocado maldito”, descubriendo que ceder al impulso tiene un precio irreversible: perderse a uno mismo.
La comida grotesca y la penumbra de las velas son los rituales de esta posesión. Conforme avanza la cena, Regina comprende que la repulsión que siente no es hacia su tío, sino hacia lo que ella está a punto de convertirse. No se trata de un miedo a morir de hambre, sino del terror a descubrir de lo que somos capaces cuando el instinto nos domina.
A menudo pensamos que los monstruos viven debajo de la cama. Sin embargo, esta obra propone que el monstruo más aterrador es el que despertamos nosotros mismos.
The short film explores the most primitive human battle: the fight for control over our own impulses. We often believe that true terror dwells in the darkness or the paranormal, but there exists a deeper and more tangible fear: the fear of ourselves, of that inner voice that demands to be satiated no matter the cost.
We live in a society that demonizes excess, yet secretly consumes it. ‘Feed Me!’ was born from a personal scar, from my own teenage years battling weight issues. For a long time, I felt held hostage by an appetite that was not physiological, but emotional; I felt inhabited by an abusive monster, a bottomless pit that wanted to eat and eat, silencing my will bite after bite. That internal struggle, that sensation of losing the battle against your own body, is the horror I seek to portray here.
This story is my way of externalizing that monster. It is the nightmare scenario I built to give a face to that anxiety. In the film, Regina enters that house seeking refuge, but encounters the ultimate test. Just as I fought internally to make peace and regain control, Regina faces the ‘cursed bite,’ discovering that giving in to the impulse carries an irreversible price: losing oneself.
The grotesque food and the dim candlelight are the rituals of this possession. As the dinner progresses, Regina realizes that the repulsion she feels is not towards her uncle, but towards what she is about to become. It is not about a fear of starving, but the terror of discovering what we are capable of when instinct takes over.
We often think monsters live under the bed. However, this work proposes that the most terrifying monster is the one we awaken ourselves.
