En los Altos de Jalisco, un pequeño huevo desea saber: ¿Cuál es su propósito en la vida?
Día tras día, ve como sus hermanos son elegidos por el campesino para emprender grandes aventuras en el mundo exterior, mientras él permanece en el nido, ignorado y atrapado.

“El huevo soñador” es un recordatorio para dejar de mirar el camino de los demás. El propósito no es algo que te dan; es algo que encuentras mientras tienes el coraje de vivir tu propia vida, a tu propio ritmo.
Crecimos con la idea de que la vida es lineal: estudias, te gradúas, consigues un trabajo, formas una familia y envejeces. Nos venden un propósito predefinido. Pero, ¿qué sucede cuando la realidad no sigue ese guion?
“El huevo soñador” nació precisamente de esa pregunta. Al salir de la universidad, observé a mi generación y vi cómo esa “promesa” de un futuro lineal se disolvía. Compañeros en trabajos que no tenían nada que ver con lo que estudiamos, otros desempleados desde que salieron, otros ya formando familia, otros tomando caminos completamente inesperados. Me di cuenta de que, en cada persona, sus etapas tienen tiempos diferentes.
Esta película es mi respuesta a esa ansiedad colectiva. Es una fábula sobre la mentira del destino único y la angustia que genera la comparación.
Quise explorar esta idea a través de un huevo. Es esa etapa de la vida en la que te sientes listo para “comerte el mundo”, pero el mundo parece no tener prisa por conocerte. Es la vida diciéndote: “aún no es tu tiempo, aguanta, ya llegará”. Y es nuestra terquedad por amargarnos con el futuro en lugar de disfrutar el presente. A veces, lo más valiente que podemos hacer es, simplemente, aprender a disfrutar la etapa de “ser un huevo”.
Más allá de estas experiencias, la película es una fábula creada en colaboración con Inteligencia Artificial. Fue un proceso complejo donde la memoria (mis ideas) y la aleatoriedad (la IA) tuvieron que unificarse. El reto fue desarrollar un sistema para que la IA no divagara, sino que se apegara a un estilo visual cinematográfico que sirviera a este drama melancólico.
El resultado es una mirada sobre la ansiedad del propósito, una perspectiva sobre una crisis muy moderna —la obsesión por el éxito inmediato— contada a través de una fábula de animación.
‘The Dreamer Egg’ is a reminder to stop looking at the path of others. Purpose is not something you are given; it is something you find while having the courage to live your own life, at your own pace.
We grew up with the idea that life is linear: you study, you graduate, you get a job, you start a family, and you grow old. We are sold a predefined purpose. But what happens when reality doesn’t follow that script?
‘The Dreamer Egg’ was born precisely from that question. After graduating from college, I looked at my generation and saw how that ‘promise’ of a linear future was dissolving. Some classmates were in jobs that had nothing to do with what we studied, others had been unemployed since graduating, others were already starting families, and still others were taking completely unexpected paths. I realized that for each person, their life stages happen at different times.
This film is my response to that collective anxiety. It is a fable about the lie of a single destiny and the anguish generated by comparison.
I wanted to explore this idea through an egg. It’s that stage of life where you feel ready to ‘take on the world,’ but the world seems to be in no hurry to meet you. It’s life telling you: ‘It’s not your time yet, be patient, your turn will come.’ And it’s our stubbornness to get bitter about the future instead of enjoying the present. Sometimes, the bravest thing we can do is, simply, learn to enjoy the ‘being an egg’ stage.
Beyond these experiences, the film is a fable created in collaboration with Artificial Intelligence. It was a complex process where memory (my ideas) and randomness (the AI) had to be unified. The challenge was to develop a system so that the AI would not stray, but instead adhere to a cinematic visual style that served this melancholic drama.
The result is a look at the anxiety of purpose, a perspective on a very modern crisis—the obsession with immediate success—told through an animated fable.
